The event is thematically connected with the Olympic Games which are taking place at present and is held as part of the project Rio – Lipno Olympic Park and Olympic South Bohemia. It is organized by the South Bohemian Region in cooperation with the Tourist Authority of South Bohemia and the International Music Festival Český Krumlov.
A carnival procession through the town which will start at 7.30 p.m. in the square is prepared. After that a program including music, dance and culinary specialities in the Brewery Garden starting at 8.00 p.m. will follow. The Latino band Carisma, dance group Tradición and the group Tam Tam Batucada, which has prepared a drumming show, will perform.
The temperamental music of the group Carisma loaded with energy in Latin American style will guide the visitors through the evening. Excellent musicians and singers from Latin America will present a rich repertoire from traditional Cuban compositions to famous hits like those of the Gypsy Kings as well as famous and popular Latino pieces. The songs will be interpreted in their original version and also with a touch of modern styles.
Dance certainly belongs to evenings in Latin American style. The group Tradición will perform traditional dances, for example, Cuban salsa, Brazilian samba, Argentine tango as well as merengue originally from the Dominican Republic. The repertoire of the group Tradición includes a wide array of choreographies, enriched with authentic costumes directly from the cradle of the carnival Rio de Janeiro or from the most famous cabaret Tropicana in Havana. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn samba from professional dancers as a school of samba is prepared.
A thrilling drumming show of the Tam Tam Batucada orchestra supplemented by dance performances will also be part of the evening. Drummers and percussionists will play carnival samba from the Rio de Janeiro and Bahia regions but will also include rhythms from the whole of South America, Cuba and Africa – samba reggae, samba batucada, maracatú, timbalada, rumba, Afrosamba and others.
Besides music and dance, the Brazilian evening will offer local culinary specialities: the Brazilian national dish feijoada – stewed pork and beef meat with black beans and a spicy sausage, grilled beef flank, Brazilian grilled chicken supreme served with corn and other delicacies. The above will be accompanied by South American wines and mixed drinks. So all sorts of experiences are prepared and lovers of South American rhythms as well as exotic food and drinks will certainly have a great time.
