The evening of musicals belongs to the most popular concerts every year and this year was no different. On Saturday 31st July the sold-out Brewery Garden welcomed the musical stars and the four soloists from Broadway theatres made the audience excited with their very first song. Christiane Noll, Capathia Jenkins, Rob Evan and Doug LaBrecque performed in a program titled Bravo Broadway! accompanied by the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc under the baton of Randall Craig Fleischer. In the first half of the evening the audience heard melodies from musicals, rock operas and films (Les Misérables, Miss Saigon, Tommy, Rent, Jersey Boys and others) and the second half belonged especially to the compositions from the musicals Mamma Mia! and Phantom of the Opera. The delighted audience exacted five encores, the viewers danced and moved the torches in their mobile phones above their heads to replace lighters used in the past. But as Christiane Noll remarked, there were still a few viewers “from the old school” with lighters. “The viewers were absolutely fantastic, it was like a big party. After such a concert you feel great,” said Christiane Noll after the concert. “It is a pleasure for us to watch the audience and see how the viewers are enjoying themselves. We often sing together with Christiane, Rob and Doug and we enjoy every performance. The orchestra was phenomenal, they are not only good players but also a group of nice people,” added Capathia Jenkins. “It was a great evening, it is a pleasure to recall these amazing melodies. Even the musicians in the orchestra clearly enjoyed playing. And the soloists, who are my friends, were unrivalled,” conductor Randall Craig Fleischer praised his colleagues and added, “Český Krumlov is like a fairy tale town, yet it is real. The castle, the river… I love this town and I have a number of great memories of this town from my past performances.”
