This piano trio was formed in Vienna and its name comes from the concert series Schwingungen organized by the International Society for the Promotion of Music and Culture. The members of the trio are violinist Sania Cheong from South Korea, Russian violoncellist Kirill Rodin and South Korean pianist Sangeil Shin. The artists performed Mikhail Glinka’s Trio pathetique in D minor, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D major, op. 70 and after the intermission Anton Arensky’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, op. 32. They earned great applause and rewarded the viewers with an encore by M. Glinka. “The audience was great and also the acoustics in the beautiful Masquerade Hall are absolutely perfect,” said Kirill Rodin after the concert. Sania Cheong added her personal experience, “For me the festival in Český Krumlov is a key moment in my career, I played at the Castle Riding Hall with violoncellist Mischa Maisky in 2011 and this concert brought other amazing offers to me. Therefore, it was a pleasure to come back to Český Krumlov.”
