On Friday 19th July the 22nd year of the International Music Festival Český Krumlov was successfully inaugurated. World opera star Elina Garanča accompanied by a symphonic orchestra performed in front of a sold-out auditorium. A number of important persons from the political and cultural life attended the official opening, including the Chairwoman of the Chamber of Deputies Miroslava Němcová, former President of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus, Finance Minister Jan Fischer, Minister of Culture Jiří Balvín and from the cultural sphere Václav Hudeček, Dagmar Havlová, and others were among the guests. On Saturday 20th July conductor and composer Tolga Kashif – once again in front of a sold-out auditorium in the Brewery Garden – performed his monumental tribute to the group Queen, The Queen Symphony.
