The famous Latvian mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča will be the face of the 22nd year of the festival, which she will start with an opera recital accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra of the Czech Radio, the residential ensemble of the festival. IMF will bring to Český Krumlov a symphonic tribute to legendary Queen, the performance of which was hindered by the weather this summer: The Queen Symphony conducted by the composer, Tolga Kashif. We can look forward also to a congratulation concert at the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Čechomor and a series of chamber concerts in the Masquerade Hall of the Český Krumlov Castle, the number of which we have decided to increase due to big demand. We would like to draw your attention especially to the project called “Harlequin” of clarinetist Karel Dohnal. Singers from Broadway will return to the stage of the Brewery Garden with popular melodies from musicals and rock operas, there will also be a concert from the free cycle “Stars of world’s jazz” (this time it will be American group Take 6) and so-called national night focused on culture and gastronomy of a specific country or region. At the end of the festival, famous violinist Maxim Vengerov and the Symphonic Orchestra of the Czech Radio will perform in the Castle Riding Hall.
