The core of the program will consist of famous songs from the repertoire of chanson singer Edith Piaf as well as compositions by Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel and Mireille Mathieu, poems by Jacquese Prévert and Jiří Žáček set to music and also several melodies from popular French films. Violinist Bohuslav Matoušek with his young colleague Jakub Junek and the orchestra Virtuosi Pragenses will perform at the Masquerade Hall on 27th July with a chamber program. The following day, on Friday 28th July, the concert of violinist Julian Rachlin will be dedicated to the members of the IMF Český Krumlov Friends Club. Talented Canadian violist Sarah McElravy will perform by his side with the accompaniment of the South Czech Philharmonic, which will be conducted by Rachlin himself. The program consists of pieces by Mozart and Beethoven; Rachlin will play the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 written by the latter. The audience will hear the American musical on Saturday 29th July at the Brewery Garden interpreted by authentic Broadway stars Chloe Lowery, Capathia Jenkins, Rob Evan, Hugh Panaro and conductor Randall Craig Fleischer accompanied by the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice. In the first part of the program titled “Bravo Broadway” the audience will hear songs from American musicals from the years 1930-1959, that is the era known as the “Golden Age of Musical Theatre”, which filled the treasure trove with pieces considered classics today. For the second half of the evening a contrasting selection from the show “Rock On!”, classic rock and pop from the 70s and 80s, is prepared. And on Sunday 30th July trumpeter Marek Zvolánek and organist Pavel Svoboda will pay tribute to one of the most recognized trumpeters of the 20th century and a great role model, Maurice André.
