About artists


Soprano Kristýna Kůstková graduated from classical singing at the Pardubice Conservatory under the leadership of Jarmila Chaloupková and she is cooperating with Italian teacher Antonio Carangelo. At present she is a student of the first year of the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts. From the age of seven till 2012 she was a member and soloist of the Children’s Opera Prague and regularly performed under the National Theatre and participated in the recording of several CDs as well as of an educational program for Czech Television. At present she is a guest of the Moravian Theatre Olomouc and regularly performs with the Pardubice Philharmonic Orchestra, the ensemble Barocco sempre giovane and Václav Hudeček. In 2017 she performed during the closing concert of the exhibition “Rusalka” at the Bohemian National Hall in New York and in Prague she made an appearance as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro in the project Run OpeRun Prague. In 2018 she performed alongside Adam Plachetka at the Pardubice Music Spring festival. She is a laureate of a number of competitions, for example, she was the absolute winner of the singing competition of the Conservatory Competition, she is a holder of first prize in the Opera Hopes category and second prize in the Junior category in the International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary from this year, honorary mention in the category Song and four other special prizes. She was awarded the Young Talent of the Pardubice Region award. This year she was successfully admitted to the master’s program at the Manhattan School of Music and Mannes School of Music in New York.  


Soprano Nikola Uramová is one of the greatest talents of the incoming young generation. She studied at the Pardubice Conservatory and at present she is studying at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In 2018 she also studied at the Syddansk Musikkonservatorium in Denmark. At present she is also a student of famous Italian tenor and teacher Antonio Carangelo. Nikola cooperates with a number of Czech orchestras and artists. She sang, for example, at the Municipal House with the Prague Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra together with Simon Keenlyside and Štefan Kocán, soloists of the Metropolitan Opera in New York and she performs with personalities such as Štefan Margita and Václav Hudeček. In 2017 she was support singer to Plácido Domingo himself. Nikola Uramová is a laureate of several singing competitions. In 2012 she received first prize in the W. A. Mozart International Singing Competition in Prague and in 2014 first prize in the Opera Hopes category in the International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary. One of her latest achievements is 3rd place in the Junior category also in the International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in 2017 and 3rd prize in the Czech Philharmonic competition in 2018.


Barocco sempre giovane (Baroque Still Young) is a chamber ensemble whose members are top quality young Czech professional musicians. It was established in 2004. Initially, it was focusing on High Baroque music performance (hence the name of the ensemble). Nowadays, though, its repertoire covers all classical music styles, including those of 21st century. The ensemble has carried out several premiere performances of contemporary authors´ pieces. The ensemble is regularly invites to significant music festivals both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Its concerts are broadcast by leading TV and radio stations. It has made several CD recordings and organizes its own regular concert cycles. Barocco sempre giovane cooperates with prominent Czech and foreign performers. It puts special emphasis on the cooperation with young performers, winners of significant international competitions, especially those such as Prague Spring (Pražské jaro), Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna, Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.
