On Wednesday 6th August harpist Jana Boušková will perform in a joint program with Korean flautist Jae-A Yoo, on Thursday 7th August the piano concert of Turkish twin sisters Ferhan and Ferzan Önder, who will play Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances for Piano Four Hands, will take place. The concert of violoncellist Natalia Gutman, who belongs to the most esteemed and most rewarded musicians in the world, will also be a unique experience. Natalia Gutman, who is often called the “queen of violoncello” by both listeners and critics, will perform on 8th August at the Castle Riding Hall together with the outstanding Kammerphilharmonie dacapo München ensemble from Bavaria consisting of international musicians under the leadership of conductor Franz Schottky.
Saturday evening will belong to musicals. Leading artists from musical stages in Prague Bára Basiková, Ilona Csáková, Leona Machálková, Petr Kolář, Jan Kříž, Václav Noid Bárta and Pavel Vítek will sing the most popular melodies from Czech musicals and music films such as Dracula, Hamlet, Kdyby tisíc klarinetů (If a Thousand Clarinets), Starci na chmelu (Hop Pickers) and many more. The concert will be a tribute to Czech composers and lyricists whose work belongs to the jewels of Czech musical production. The dramaturgy focuses on musicals from several decades, from the 1960s till the present. The concert Homage to Czech Musicals will be held on 9th August in the Brewery Garden, the soloists will be accompanied by the Festival Orchestra under the leadership of Kryštof Marek. The presenter of the evening will be Roman Vojtek.
