Unfortunately, Chinese pianist Shiran Wang will not be able to perform due to health reasons. Korean piano virtuoso Chulhee Yoon will take her place.
Praised by musicians and critics for his precise touch and virtuosity, Chulhee Yoon is one of the most prominent pianists from South Korea. He has extensive experience as a solo pianist as he regularly performs with ensembles such as the Korean Symphony and Kangnam Symphony, orchestras of the cities of Ulsan, Busan, Pohang, Wonjoo and Changwon, KNUA and many others. Furthermore, he has also been invited to perform as a distinguished guest artist with various international orchestras such as the orchestras of Belgrade, Monterey, etc. Chulhee has played at several international music festivals, most notably the Beethoven and Český Krumlov festivals. In addition, he gave a number of thematic concerts consisting of solo works and magnificent chamber pieces during the course of several years with the support of the Seoul Cultural Foundation and media partners such as the Magazine Nobless. During his studies in Germany, Chulhee won many world renowned international competitions such as Le Muse, Rachmaninoff’s competition and Senegalia. In his native country he won first prize at the Joong-Ang Newspaper Competiton and Busan MBC Competition before going abroad. He has been invited to be a jury member of international competitions such as Bosendorfer (USA) and CAMPUS (France). Chulhee completed his studies in Freiburg and Trossingen, Germany, where he studied under the leadership of Edith Picht Axenfeld, Vitaly Margulis and Boris Lvov. Between 1998 and 2001, he was a professor at Ulsan University. Currently, he is a professor at Kookmin University.
