Concerts of the 2nd festival week
In the second week the IMF Český Krumlov will offer five concerts. The first four will take place at the Masquerade Hall of the Český Krumlov Castle. On Tuesday 18th July the Škampa Quartet will make an appearance and on 19th July Peruvian guitarist Jesús Castro Balbi will play. On Thursday 20th July violoncellist Mischa Maisky will return to Český Krumlov. He will perform together with Chinese pianist Shiran Wang, for whom it will not be the first appearance at the festival either. On Friday the ensemble Cappella Mariana will pay tribute to Claudio Monteverdi and on Saturday the festival will move to the Brewery Garden, where the Irish Evening with whisky tasting and music of the traditional Irish group Altan, which celebrates 30 years since its foundation this year, will take place. The afternoon of Sunday 23rd July will be dedicated to a young audience as the Children’s Afternoon with the subtitle “we enjoy energy” will be held in the Brewery Garden. This year of the festival will be unique thanks to the extent of cooperation with the Czech Radio, which will bring the Euroradio Folk Festival to Český Krumlov during the festival (from Wednesday 19th July to Saturday 23rd July). It is the biggest travelling feast of world music, at which around a hundred musicians from twenty-one countries will appear at the summer Castle Riding Hall.
