On Thursday 30^th July the concert of the Slovak ensemble Mucha Quartet took place at the Masquerade Hall. In the first part of the evening the audience heard Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 11 in F minor and the famous American Quartet by Antonín Dvořák. After the intermission the listeners witnessed a very untraditional program. The Mucha Quartet was joined by mime Vladimír Kulíšek and together they performed a musical-pantomimic interpretation of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. How was the cooperation of the Mucha Quartet with mime Vladimír Kulíšek born? “I have been working on pantomime in combination with music for thirty years already but this was the first combination with classical music. I organize concerts of classical music in Trenčín, where I met this ensemble and we decided to create this project,” said Vladimír Kulíšek after the concert, who portrayed both cheerful and moving stories concerning human life and natural cycles. “It was a premiere for us, we had only played two from The Four Seasons concerts until tonight, today we performed the whole piece for the first time. We had a good time on stage and we believe that it was interesting and refreshing for the viewers too. The reactions were fantastic and we are glad that we were able to come here, to Český Krumlov and to the Masquerade Hall, with this performance inspired by the commedia dell’arte,” commented the members of the Mucha Quartet.
