Szidi Tobias and her band sang chansons in the Kooperativa Garden

The garden resounded with the captivating voice of the Slovak singer accompanied by the rustle of rain.

Szidi Tobias was active in several theatres as an actress. She managed to assert herself considerably as singer after the year 2000 in cooperation with lyricist Michal Horáček and authors of music Petr Hapka and Jaroslav Svoboda. Her latest CD is called Jolanka and the songs from this album were the ones which she sang in the Kooperativa Garden on Wednesday 27th July besides other songs by the duo of authors Milan Vyskočáni – Peter Lipovský. Szidi Tobias was accompanied by her band consisting of Milan Vyskočáni (guitar, piano), Milan Osadský (accordion) and Andrej Gál (violoncello). The concert was disturbed by the weather as just before the start of the concerts the first drops fell and during the whole of Szidi Tobias’s performance persistent rain was present in the sold-out Kooperativa Garden. However, this did not put off any of the viewers and they all stayed until the end. They were rewarded by a glass of wine which was served after the concert. “I would like to thank all those who bravely sat in their raincoats and stayed for the entire concert. With the band, we have played in places where it was raining and there were bolts of lightning but this rain just wouldn’t stop. I am sorry about this as Český Krumlov really is a beautiful town, where elegance, good will and money are wedded. This garden is also wonderful,” said Szidi Tobias after the concert.
