The end of the festival belonged to violinist Tanja Becker-Bender, who, with the accompaniment of the Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra, interpreted Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D major on 10^th August. “It is great to be able to perform again in such a beautiful place where you can feel history as Český Krumlov is. Coming back to the Czech Republic also has a personal meaning for me as my grandmother was Czech, she came from Jablonec nad Nisou. She also played the violin, actually she was the first musician in our family and now I continue in her footsteps. The fact that I give concerts as a violinist in the Czech Republic is almost moving for me.” The concert dedicated to the memory of an important Czech personality, violinist and teacher, Prof. Emil Friedmann Kossuth, was conducted by Manuel Hernández-Silva. “Today’s concert was special for me. I am really glad that we remembered maestro Friedmann, who was my teacher in the country I come from, in Venezuela. He told me a lot about the Czech Republic and life here,” Silva remembered his role model. The concert in the full Castle Riding Hall was completed by Brahms’s fourth symphony.
