“What a party it was today!”

On Saturday 29th July the Brewery Garden experienced a big musical-rock show. Star singers from
Broadway, Chloe Lowery, Capathia Jenkins, Rob Evan and Hugh Panaro, were fully in charge. Except
for Chloe Lowery, all the others know the stage in the Brewery Garden well. They return here almost
every year. They once again performed with the accompaniment of the North Czech Philharmonic
Teplice under the baton of Randall Craig Fleischer and this time they were also accompanied by
Czech vocalists Naďa Wepperová, Alena Průchová and Adam Koubek. And what did the Czech singers say about their cooperation? “We are absolutely enthralled. It was an experience. And from the never-ending ovations it is clear how much the people liked it. We experienced the same joy on stage as the audience did in the auditorium. The people had their hands up in the air and really encouraged us. The festival in Český Krumlov simply has a great atmosphere.” For Chloe Lowery it was a premiere in Český Krumlov, “Today’s concert was fantastic. The energy of the audience was incredibly energizing. I will surely remember today’s show for a very long time, it is one of the best which the four of us have experienced on stage. It was an honour for me to be part of it. This is my first time here, as opposed to my three colleagues, and I have to say that Český Krumlov made a great impression on me. The people were incredibly nice. I went to see the town and the castle and it was phenomenal.” Capathia Jenkins, Rob Evan and Hugh Panaro said the following words about the evening, “What a party it was today! This year’s program was full of contrasts. The first half consisted of Broadway’s golden classics – musicals from the 30s till the 50s. After the intermission we once again ‘whooped it up’ and sang classic rock and pop from the 70s and 80s – Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Eagles, Whitney Houston.” The rock ending was in memory of the legendary Freddie Mercury and the group Queen, from whose works the audience heard the immortal songs We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions. “Every time we come here, the reaction of the audience is bigger and warmer. We can feel that some of those present already know us and actually come to see us. This is the fourth or fifth time we have been here and it is still not enough,” they added
jointly. In the second half the four singers heated up the audience so much that one young girl joined
the interpreters and sang all the songs with them under the stage. The soloists even handed over the
microphone to her at one stage so the young singer enjoyed her few seconds of fame. And because
the viewers did not want to let the musicians leave the stage, they added a few encores such as Girl
on Fire by Alicia Keys and Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees.
